Living as a Child of the King of kings

“Which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords.” 1 Timothy 6:15

When a person receives Jesus, the Bible says in Galatians 4:6-7 the Holy Spirit comes to live in his or her heart: “Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.”

One also becomes a child of God and heir of God who belongs to a certain kingdom – the kingdom of God where Jesus rules as King. Not just a king of another nation, such as a Christian nation, but Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords  (1 Timothy 6:15). He is ruler over the entire universe and all nations with supreme sovereignty and power.

As humans, we see with our natural eyes the things of this world; however, as children of God, Jesus wants us to see with our supernatural eyes where we can see the kingdom of God, and also live in it too on a daily basis. Jesus said in John 3:3, “Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” “

One must be born again to see the kingdom of God. To be born again means not only have you believed in Jesus’ death for the forgiveness of your sins, you also must accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, repent (or turn away) from your sins, invite and receive the Holy Spirit in your heart and ask the Holy Spirit to help you to transform your life to live a new life with Jesus. This is a lifelong process and if you ask the Holy Spirit He will help.

When you are born again, Jesus becomes King of your life. As King, He wants you to remember that He reigns on His throne at all times, in this world and in your personal life. He is in control, in good and hard times. As King, He is governing the world, and your world and you do not have to be afraid of anything. As Jesus said in John 18:36, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.” Are you a child of the King of kings?

When Jesus began His preaching, His message was, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” When Jesus came on the earth this first time, He came as King for a spiritual battle. The battle He came was the battle to defeat the ultimate enemy of God, who is Satan, the devil and Jesus won this battle through his death and resurrection. Hallelujah! Are you living it out as a child of the King?

The Bible says Jesus is coming back to earth a second time, and He is coming soon: Matthew 24:30-31, “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.”

Are YOU ready for Jesus’ return?

How to have a relationship with Jesus:

The Bible says in Romans 10:9, “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” If you would like to have a relationship with Jesus, you can pray this prayer below, and make sure you get connected to a Bible-based church to help you walk out and grow in your relationship with Jesus. May God richly bless you!

Prayer to Receive Jesus:

Dear Lord Jesus, I believe in my heart that you died on the cross for my sins and rose on the third day. Thank you for your cross. Please forgive me for my sins. I repent or turn away from my sins and receive you Jesus as my God, Lord and Savior of my life. Jesus I invite you to come into my heart. Help me Holy Spirit to know Jesus more and help me to live my life for Jesus. In Jesus’  mighty Name I pray, Amen.

Jesus, Our Burden Bearer

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” -Matthew 11:28-30

Have you ever felt like worries in your life have reached a ceiling? It’s like you’ve done all you can to fix the problem in your human strength, but the problem is still there and weighs you down, mentally, emotionally, physically. It seems like it is unbearable.

The Bible says in Matthew 11:28-30 that Jesus is our burden-bearer, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

We are not created by God to carry our own burdens in life. God created man, us, in the beginning to have a love relationship with God. He wants us to bring our burdens to Him in relationship and not to keep them to ourselves or carry them.

Jesus saves our soul spiritually for eternity when we believe in him as John 3:16-17 says: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

Jesus can also save our soul by giving our soul rest from the burdens in this life when they become too big for us to carry when we give him our burdens as this verse Matthew 11:28-30 says. When we cast our cares on the Lord, he will sustain us (Psalm 55:22).

  • So today, will you give your burdens to Jesus?

When you feel life’s problems overwhelm you, establish a habit to bring it to Jesus in prayer, for this is where your burdens belong, and not in your mind, will, and emotions which is your soul. Ask the Lord Jesus to help take away your burden that is too big to carry and to give you his rest, strength, and healing. Jesus can replace your burdens with his peace, love and life which are characteristics of who he is and only he can give you.

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

We had just started walking down the aisles of the Hmong Village shopping center, and unexpectedly, we came across a beautiful Green Hmong traditional outfit on display outside a clothing store. We learned that it was one of the rare, hand sewn, and original, traditional Green Hmong outfits. Before we left the store, I went to tell the store owner we were co-workers of Jesus and wanted to know if she had any prayer requests. To my surprise, I learned she was a Christian, a follower of Jesus. Her name was Doua. This is her story and her testimony on how she came to be a follower of Jesus, receiving Jesus as her God, Lord, and Savior.

Doua’s husband is not a Christian and does not allow her to attend church. They married in 1989. Doua says, “We were married for a long time and did not have children so we went to see the doctor.” The doctors told her and her husband that they would be unable to have a child due to a medical reason she had. At that time, Doua suffered from sleep paralysis, in Hmong it is called “npau sua tsog tsuam”. The demon that attacked her in the night looked like a rat with a tail like a snake. She asked her pastor to kill an animal that looked like a rat and Doua was set free.

In 1993 after this incident, the Lord gave Doua a verse, Mark 11:24. She wrote down a prayer request to God for a child and posted it on her wall. She began praying and believing in God for a child, standing in faith on the truth of Mark 11:24. Doua promised God that if He gave her a child, she would offer the baby to Him, like Hannah in the Bible (1 Samuel 1). In 2000, after 7 years of persistent prayer and faith in God, God answered Doua and she had a child, a daughter. She offered her daughter’s life to God to be used for God’s purpose as she had promised God. She testified to the doctors that God had done a miracle and they believed her because they said it was medically impossible for her to have a child.

Since this miracle, Doua’s faith in God has increased and she has become a follower of Jesus, reading her Bible, discipling and ministering to her family and relatives. She has seen God move in miracles, healing and deliverance. Today, Doua has four children. Her oldest child, who was born by the miracle of God, is 22 years old. She believes God has His hand, favor and blessing on her life. She is proud that her children follow God and they pray to God for help in their lives and studies since she teaches them to do so. She is still praying and believing in God for the salvation of her husband.

I see that Doua is a prayer warrior with a gift of faith and follows the Word of God. She prays for God’s workers since she can’t go to church. She is a woman who has the glory of God on her and is treasured by God.

I asked what would be a word of encouragement that she would like to share with others. She said, “If you have a sickness, a need from God, you must pray, patiently hope in God, be persistent, trust God and have faith in God for it. As Psalm 118:9 says, “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.” For the one who wants a child, seek God and you will have what you say when you have faith in God. I pray that God will bless you who reads my testimony here. Whatever you desire, keep asking God for it in hope and prayer, I believe He will answer your prayers like He did for me. I am thankful to God He answered my prayer.”

Are you looking for peace?

Friend, are you feeling worried or stressed about something?  Or may it be that you are feeling okay yet have an unsettling feeling within your heart?

With what’s going on in the world today, there is reason to feel worried and stressed at times. It seems as if a culture of un-peacefulness has permeated the world and societies and it is the norm to have anxieties toward things such as: the unknown future, new ways of life, delayed dreams and promises, government, coronavirus, fear of sickness and death, loss of employment, financial security, relationships, safety, and our children’s future. It is true that we have to accept that life will never be the same again.

  • When you feel stressed, who do you turn to or what do you turn to?

The Bible says in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

The Bible says in this verse that Jesus is inviting all of us to come to Him when we feel stressed and He can give us rest for our soul. Our soul is our mind, will, and emotions. When we feel stressed, we can go to Jesus. When we come to Jesus, He can give us His peace to fill our hearts, that is unlike the peace we can get from this world, and Jesus’ peace will take away our worries and fears (John 14:27). The Bible says Jesus is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6)

  • Would you like the peace of Jesus to fill your heart today?

The word for peace in Hmong is  “kev thaj yeeb” (Pronounced: khay-tah-ying) or peacefulness or happy is “kaj siab” (Pronounced: kah-shia).

True peace that touches our soul can only come from a relationship with Jesus.

How to have a relationship with Jesus:

The Bible says in Romans 10:9, “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” If you would like to receive the peace of Jesus through a relationship with Jesus, you can pray this prayer below, and make sure you get connected to a Bible-based church to help you walk out and grow in your relationship with Jesus. May God richly bless you!

As you follow Jesus, the Bible says in Philippians 4:6-7 that you can daily give Jesus your worries and as a result, the peace of God will guard your hearts and minds: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
